PREBIOTICS

The prebiotics ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDE and INULIN serve as a food source for bacteria and together can support the commensal skin flora and strengthen the skin barrier by inhibiting the growth of unwanted bacteria on the skin. Together they can alleviate skin symptoms such as dryness and itching.

POSTBIOTICS

The postbiotic BIFIDA FERMENT LYSATE improves skin redness and strengthens the skin barrier by increasing the formation of proteins that serve to stabilize the cell structures in the skin. LACTOCOCCUS FERMENT LYSATE promotes skin renewal and accelerates the restoration of the skin barrier. It can improve the function of the skin barrier, optimize skin hydration and regulate the skin's pH, which can allow the skin's lipid-forming enzymes to work close to their pH optimum.

AHA

The alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) lactic acid and glycolic acid are among the most commonly used hydroxy acids in cosmetic formulations. Lactic acid can smooth the skin surface and increase the ceramide content in the skin by stimulating ceramide synthesis. Glycolic Acid is effective in treating both hyperpigmentation and blemishes. AHAs not only promote the natural exfoliation of the skin, but also help to improve skin quality.

PHA

Gluconolactone is a poly-hydroxy acid (PHA) and a gentle exfoliant known for its skin-smoothing and antioxidant properties. This PHA provides mild exfoliation by dissolving dead skin cells and improving skin texture without irritating. Gluconolactone binds water in the skin, increases skin hydration and acts as an antioxidant.

BHA

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is particularly effective in treating blemishes. Due to its lipophilic properties, salicylic acid can penetrate deep into the pores and dissolve excess sebum. This helps to reduce impurities and improve the skin's appearance. Salicylic acid also has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe redness.

FAQ

To integrate exfoliation into your routine, follow these steps:

  1. Cleansing: First cleanse the skin thoroughly.
e.g. with the The Ten out of Ten Gel Cleanser
  2. Exfoliation: Apply the Active Acids Exfoliating Solution onto clean and, above all, dry skin.
  3. Application time: When applying the product for the first time, it is important to ensure that it is only left on for a few minutes (3-5 minutes). For subsequent applications, the exposure time can be increased to a maximum of 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse off: Rinse the exfoliant off with lukewarm water.
  5. Moisturizing: Apply a moisturizer such as the Barrier Boost CPA Cream on.
  6. Sun protection: Always use sun protection with SPF 50 during the day for the following days.

A fruit acid peel is a type of chemical peel that primarily uses alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic acid and lactic acid. These acids are often derived from natural sources like fruit, milk or sugar cane, which is why they are commonly referred to as 'fruit acids'.

Acids such as AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids), PHA (poly-hydroxy acids) and BHA (beta-hydroxy acids) work on different levels of the skin. PHA provides gentle exfoliation on the surface, AHAs stimulate cell renewal in the deeper layers of the skin and BHA targets impurities. This synergistic effect promotes a smooth, radiant complexion.

We recommend alternating the products from the Absolute A series with our chemical peeling, Active Acids Exfoliating Solution, and never using them on the same evening. Ideally, apply the chemical peeling one evening and the Retinal Serum the following evening. On the subsequent days, take a break from active ingredients. (Keyword: Skincycling)

Yes, the peeling is ideal for acne-prone and blemished skin, as it helps reduce impurities and improves skin texture.

No, it is not recommended to use products with hydroxy acids during pregnancy and breastfeeding. You will always find this information on our product page under NOTE: Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Yes, the product can be used on sensitive skin, but it should be used with caution. It is recommended to perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the product to a larger area. Additionally, for the first application, a shorter application time of 3-5 minutes should be used.

It is recommended to apply only a moisturizer after the peeling and avoid using retinal or other active serums to prevent irritation.

After applying the peel, the skin should be soothed with a moisturizing cream such as Barrier Boost CPA Cream . It is particularly important to use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF 50) on the following days to protect the skin from UV damage. To minimize skin irritation, no other products containing AHAs, BHAs (e.g. BHA Toner) or retinoids (Retinal) should be used on the same evening!

Possible side effects may include mild redness or a slight burning or tingling sensation. These effects are usually temporary and subside within a few minutes. However, if irritation is more severe, discontinue use immediately.

Initial effects, such as smoother and more radiant skin, are immediately noticeable. Improved skin texture typically becomes visible after a few applications, usually within 2-4 weeks.

Chemical peeling should not be used more than twice a week. It is advisable to start with a patch test on an inconspicuous area to check whether the skin reacts with redness.
